In the middle of 1995, I finished making my first QBASIC game, a very simple shoot-em-up called "Dodgefire" that began with the text "AK Software presents..." (AK being my initials.)
The last QBASIC game from AK Software was finished in 1999.
Since then, two different companies called AK Software - no relation - have come into being in other countries, and even though their peaceful coexistence suggests that I'd be able to use the same name as them without legal issues, I'm now content to mark my return to game-making under the label "Absolute Kobold Interactive" which is a bit less likely to be unintentionally independently taken and still has the "AK", which was the important part.
Also since then, floppy disk degradation, viruses, mislaid hard drives, and the demise of Geocities have resulted in only two of my old QB games surviving to this day. (At least to my knowledge.)
And so, with "Greet 'em and Seat 'em" (2017), now using AppGameKit's BASIC-derived coding environment (and, later, Bitsy), the entity formerly known as AK Software rides again, as Absolute Kobold Interactive!
